Such a gem of a find. They are literally the place where my only problem is my dog might like it here more than home. All the fun hikes and swimming and socializing with other dogs. I feel so confident in their care for my fur babies. Definitely a client for life.
I have a 6 year old Siberian Husky that was completely untrained and a total nightmare. My brother was forced to move into an apartment and gave me his dog. Within 24 hours she broke out, killed the neighbors chicken, broke a hole in my screen door, and kept me up all night whining and howling. Some of this was expected being put in a new home but overall she was a disaster and did whatever she wanted. Taking her on a walk was just as bad, she pulled the entire time wanting to do nothing but run wild. I brought Suka to Winston and Amy and turned her in for their board/training program. Winston was great at explaining the training techniques and how he can help Suka. He explained how he wanted to teach her obedience while maintaining a playful and enjoyable personality, he wasn’t interested in turning her into a robot. I was more than welcome to come see Suka at anytime and when I did visit I was very pleased with her progress. One of the best parts was seeing how calm and patient Winston was. He has a true talent for not getting frustrated and creating realistic expectations for the dog without any sense of fear. Winston seemed to enjoy his time with Suka and gave her a proper goodbye when dropping her off. The results have been great. She now listens very well and she’s extremely good at picking up on what I expect from her. She has required some additional training to get her to obey exactly the way I want her to, but that’s to be expected. However if I have any troubles Winston has made it clear that he will help with Suka’s training for the rest of her life whenever needed. Before I had a dog that frustrated the hell out of me and practically kept me up at night. Now I have a dog that I look forward to spending time with. I’ve been able to really bond with her and it’s all thanks to the foundation that Winston helped me build.
My experience with Cache Canyon K9 was incredible.
Trek is a completely different pup. Well behaved, obedient, and he doesn’t chew on everything anymore.
Winston and Amy are great people.
It is obvious they love what they do. Very helpful and informative. We talked several times during the training. To keep me informed about how Trek was progressing. I loved receiving pictures of Trek from them. He was in heaven.
I will be using Cache Canyon K9 in the future for training and boarding.
We dropped off our 10 week old puppy last month for the Puppy Boot Camp and although it was SO hard to not have him home, it was definitely worth it. He came back understanding what “no” means, and is sitting on command 70% of the time (which we feel like is amazing considering he’s not even 14 weeks old). He’s also returned back home with a better sense of how to act around kids and big dogs versus small dogs; for example, with bigger dogs he plays some-what rough and with puppies and children he’s more gentle. We felt very comfortable leaving him with Winston and Amy, you can tell they’re dog lovers through and through. We plan on bringing him back when he’s older to complete the advanced boot camp!
I took my pup to Cache Canyon K9’s boot camp and could not be happier with the results. I adopted a 7mo old dog from a local shelter. She seemed to have been abused and didn’t have any training. She wasn’t even housebroken. She pulled really hard on the leash, chewed everything and was very anxious all the time. After 8 weeks with Cache Canyon K9 she has made a complete 180. She is housebroken, she will recall (come) easily, she doesn’t pull AT ALL on the leash, She will go into her kennel and go to her “place” when she’s commanded and stay there until released. She waits patiently for permission to eat and permission to come out of the house even when the doors are wide open. She spent tons of time socializing with other dogs and as a result her anxiety is all but gone. She does great at dog parks too. This could all be found at any training “boot camp” but I think what separates Cache Canyon K9 is the persona touch that Winston and Amy provide. They were always in contact with me letting me know how my dog was doing, sending pictures and videos while she was away, and communicating with me about what my specific needs and wants for my dog’s training were. I always felt that my pup was being cared for and attended to the way I would want her to be. I highly recommend Cache Canyon K9.
